One of the most eminent celebrities, Mighty Alka Yagnik sang at the annually held Kolhapur festival on Wednesday, 27 January 2012.
The Audiences were very happy as playback singer Alka Yagnik lighthearted the function by her songs, till the end of the program. She filled the minds of Kolhapurkars by her magical voice. Finale of this event was held on Thursday.
The event started on Wednesday by her performance. She started her pursuance by ‘Gajab Ka Hai Din’ of the movie ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’. The Spectators were shouting cheerfully from the first song itself.
She also sang ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kisi Roj Tumko’ and ‘Lal Dupatta’. The Audiences started requesting for their favorite songs by writing song names on paper notes and sending it. She was tired taking requests from the listeners but still, she tried to fulfill their request to huge extent.
Alka Yagnik increased the euphoria of the event by singing ‘Bole Chudiya Bole Kangana’, ‘Tumse Milna Bate Karna’, ‘Mujhe Pyar Hua Pyar Hua’, ‘Dekha Hai Pehli Baar’, ‘Panchi Sarhad’, ‘Gunghat Ki Aad Se’, ‘Ring Ring Ringa’, ‘Choli Ke Piche Kya Hai’, ‘Ek Do Teen’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ and many more.
Afternoon there was another program at Kolhapur Festival named ‘Tya Kovlya Phulancha’ at Kesavrao Bhosale Natyagrah. In this program Salil Kulkarni, Suchitra Bhagvat, Madhav Bhagvat and Prajakta Ranade filled the festival with their Poems and Gazhals.
The objective of this festival is to enhance growth in the social sector of tourism and travel department in southwestern Maharashtra, Kolhapur district. The features of the city like historic background, cultural, trade, photo galleries, jiggery products, famous Kolhapuri chappals, gold and silver ornaments, are on sale in the festival.
The festival, its management, organization, arrangement of various programs, entrance passes, ticket stalls, reservation for VIPs, streams, consultation, enquiries with authorities are cordially arranged to uttermost satisfaction by those hosting it.
